My sliders paint was getting to be in pretty rough shape from both rocks being spit up and from sliding on rocks. As a result it was starting to rust and not look pretty:(
It took about 5 hours for one slider to remove (most of) the rust, sand it smooth, prime, and repaint. As of 2/25/06 I haven't done the other one. That is next weekend
This is my passanger side which basically looked identical to my drivers side before I did any work to it:

After I cleaned up the sliders to get rid of all of the rust and metal shavings I taped off the area:
